The De Pere Silver Knight Award is an annual dinner and award ceremony honoring a resident of De Pere for his/her service to the community.  The new recipient then joins the past recipients as a "Silver Knight". Since its inception in 1968 the award has been bestowed upon outstanding individuals nominated by De Pere Service Clubs, civic organizations or members of the community.  The winner, selected by a vote of the previous Silver Knight Winners, is chosen from a list of nominees submitted on a yearly basis.

Previous winners have been recognized for their contributions to: civic development and growth, church activities, service to the elderly, handicapped, challenged or needy, programs for children, scouting programs, and many other civic and philanthropic activities.  The nominee must have demonstrated leadership, imagination and dedication with significant contributions to the community as a public service and without remuneration.
